The Line

There is a new internet show called The Line. It involves two friends, Josh (Bill Hader) and Duffy (Joe Lo Truglio of Superbad) score the coveted first spots in line outside of a movie theater, 11 days prior to the world premiere of FutureSpace, the hottest sci-fi movie of the summer.
Reminds me of my days of standing in stupid lines for Playstation 2, meeting Emeril, Star Wars Trilogy Re-releases, limited sneakers, and all things ridiculous. Standing in line for things, as stupid as it seems, can be quite the adventure and makes for some good stories to tell.

Welcome to The Line

What every lazy man needs!!!

With the College and NFL footballs seasons approaching, I find myself looking for more ways to add to my lazy lifestyle of sitting and watching football while belligerently swearing loudly at the t.v. If this goes into production, I may have to line up for one of these.

Enjoy!!!

CHO SUN OK

This is my favorite Korean restaurant in Chicago. The place is tiny, usually a line out the door, 95% of the patrons are Korean, waitresses are a little stand offish and hardly speak English, and the owner wears what looks like a lab coat while he looks around his restaurant, this is the spot!

No kalbi or bulgogi ordered in here if you know what's good for you. While those traditional korean dishes are tasty, one must try chadol-gui with the kim chi fried rice at the end...mmm
We made the mistake of ordering the "regulars" the first time and looked around to notice that no one else is eating or ordering the traditional dishes in the entire place and they are all Koreans, but they all were grubbing on the same thing. So, naturally I asked what is it that everyone else is eating and the rest is culinary history.

and of course the best person to go with for Korean Food

I guess I'm gonna have to try this at Best Buy

With the #1 Pick in the Draft the Chicago Bulls select...

Chicago pro-sports teams have been known for suspect draft picks since MJ left town. I won't even get into the Chicago Bears woes in the draft. So here we are, the Chicago Bulls are going to select their "future" in this evenings draft. Hopefully, things will pan out with this draft pick. The last picks have either failed miserably (Eddy Curry), did not live up to expectations (Kirk Hinrich), or were traded away and became fairly descent players somewhere else (Elton Brand, Brad Miller, Ron Artest, Tyson Chandler). Call it the curse of MJ or just plain terrible upper management (damn Jerry Krause). Hopefully, Pax can pull off his pink panties and turn this team around. Most experts feel Derrick Rose is the way to go, but when was the last time you saw a hometown hero ever perform up to par? Especially in a large media market like Chicago. Most fans didn't even hear of or see this guy until the Final Four. Don't get me wrong he does possess leadership and all the other bullshit qualities you hear Jay Bilas talk about on ESPN but how much can we rely on "potential". The Bulls need to win now and trying to hopefully discover the next Chris Paul isn't the answer. Michael Beasley is the other contender. Coming out of Kansas State heralded as the best player in college basketball all throughout the season. The guy can score in the paint and is a big body. Any Chicago fan remember seeing Tyrus Thomas posting up in the paint...didn't think so. Basketball "experts" are worried about his character. That's funny...I can't remember when character put points on the score board or that the NBA was the stocked full of upstanding citizens. All the Bulls have right now are a bunch of mediocre guards and small forwards that like to shoot 3-pointers as if they were in a rec league at the local YMCA. Joakim Noah...um right...his hair weighs more than that rail of a body. I say trade the pick bring in Tracy McGrady and other almost washed up all-stars and win this thing already. We saw the Celtics do it this year with KG, Paul Pierce, and Ray Allen and win but than again we saw the Lakers do it awhile back too and fail, but they had the Mailman who was destined to never win a NBA Championship anyway. So, as long as we stay away from Karl Malone and Gary Payton the Bulls might succeed. And you know for NBA marketing purposes David Stern wants to see the Bulls make it far so he can get a chance to "feed the ducks" while watching MJ highlight reels during the playoffs.
I guess I can only hope to be completely and utterly wrong and they turn things around. I would gladly walk to Sports Authority and throw away $40 for a Derrick Rose jersey. GO BULLS!!!
I leave you with this gem....check out the 'stache on David Stern

He Got Game...

I am tired of all these comparisons of Kobe Bryant to the "Greatest Ever" Michael Jordan. Kobe showed no leadership at all in Game 4. He stood there dribbling around and passing off only to see his wack ass role players miss shots and play terrible defense. Then this fool would go to the bench for a timeout and yell at his teammates. Maybe Kobe needs to go back to Denver and relieve some stress with another worker at a spa center. Here's a perfect example of the tenacious defense the Lakers play. At least Jordan Brand has the right guy wearing his sneakers....Ray Allen is the truth

Or if David Stern (NBA Commish) has his was this series will go 7 Games...ratings baby. David Stern is still looking for someone to replace MJ as the poster boy of the NBA. Damn I hate the NBA.

NYC/NJ

I had some fun in NYC/NJ last week. Here's a few things I did, saw, and eat...mmm...

Got to go to the Kanye West's Glow in the Dark Concert at MSG with Gladys
This concert was quite the production. Crazy set designs, Animated Muppets , naked ladies dipped in gold, and kids with those blinder shades. Oh by the way the actual concert was good. Lupe Fiasco, N.E.R.D., and Rihanna joined in the fun.

Good thing there was that big screen....

Rolled around Manhattan spending money I don't have...

Cafe Habana

Grilled Corn and Chicken Diablo Burrito

Picture booth at Uniqlo. Damn photo machine ran out of film so I had to take a picture of the picture..wack

And for all you fashionistas I ran into Karl Lagerfeld on Broadway....look'n sharp Karl

Went to Brooklyn to check out Harold Hunter Day in Brooklyn. Thanks to KCDC for the free Newcastle, Pacifico and Tequila.

This was a huge warehouse space with an indoor mini-skate ramp.
